Programme dates
 02 September – 11 October 2024

Courses available

  • Criminal behavior (5.5 ECTS)
  • Advanced Sociological Theory (5.5 ECTS)

The courses are taught in English. Cologne students must enrol for both courses.

For course details, please search for the course titles in Utrecht's online course catalogue.

Application procedure
The Utrecht Short Programme in Sociology is open to bachelor and master students.
The formalities and structure of applications for the Utrecht programme are the same as for the Study Abroad Programme (STAP) main selection round. Please consult the STAP Application Manuals (bachelor or master, available under "Downloads" on this page) for application documents and selection criteria.

Students must apply through the WEX International Outgoings Portal by choosing the selection round 'Short programme Sociology'. It is possible to take part in the STAP programme and the short programme in sociology provided the dates do not overlap. In the case of similar applications, students not taking part in the STAP programme may be given priority for the short programme in sociology.

Application deadline
31 January 2024
Please include an official transcript of records issued by the Examination Office, not just a screenshot of your grades available online.

Credit transfer
